Facility History The Aerojet General Corporation developed, manufactured and tested liquid and solid rocket motors since the 1950s. The facility manufacured rocket propellants, agricultural chemicals and related items. Disposal methods included burning, landfilling, surface impoundment, and deep well injection. Aerojet General Corporation has destroyed their two deep injection wells at the Sacramento Propulsion System Plant pursuant to the 1994 Closure/Post Closure Plan approved by DTSC on June 30, 1994. Approximately 85 million gallons of waste water had been injected in these wells. The Declaration of Covenants and Environmental Restrictions addresses portions of the former 8,500 acre Aerojet Superfund site that are to be delisted and removed from the National Priorities List (NPL).
