DTSC Emergency Regulations
DTSC adopts emergency regulations when it determines, and the Office of Administrative Law concurs, that there is an immediate need for a regulation to protect the public health and safety, or the general welfare. Typically, emergency regulations stay in effect for 120 days, during which DTSC conducts its rulemaking process to permanently adopt the regulations.

DTSC often conducts workshops or other preliminary activities prior to conducting a formal rulemaking under the Administrative Procedure Act.
