Phase One — Options Report
April to December 2007

The California Environmental Protection Agency has released a compilation of policy options that more than 600 participants submitted during Phase One. The Options Report includes the 818 options on ways to reduce the effects of toxic chemicals on people and the environment. Participants in the Conversation with California provided their ideas to develop safer processes and products, foster innovation, create new jobs, and reduce waste. The attached report is a comprehensive list of these options which will be evaluated further this spring.

Cal/EPA Applauds UC Report on Green Chemistry
Announces State Report of Policy Options to be Released this Month

Linda Adams, California’s Secretary for Environmental Protection issued the following statement on the report, "Green Chemistry: Cornerstone to a Sustainable California" issued by the University of California, The Centers for Occupation and Environmental Health:

"The University of California’s green chemistry report supports and reinforces the significance of the state’s new environmental protection initiative on green chemistry. The University of California is an important partner in our efforts to establish a first-of-its-kind comprehensive policy for managing toxic chemicals in products....more
