Notification and Reporting Requirements for
Universal Waste Electronic Devices (UWED) Material Handlers

If you plan to collect, treat or recycle UWED and/or CRT material, you must file a Notification of Intent to handle, treat and/or recycle ewaste material.  Under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 23, Notification of Intent must be filed at least 30 days prior to handling. If you have previously submitted Intent to Handle using form DTSC 1382 or 1388, you will not need to re-notify by sending in the Signature Certification page as requested when using the online Notification and Annual Reporting system. However, for first time use of the online reporting system for annual reports, it is required that you enter your notification information into the system. The online process includes maintenance pages if you need to edit or update your information in the future.
