On Thursday, May 26, 2016, DTSC co-hosted a collaborative meeting to exchange information on Retail Industry hazardous waste management issues including the industry sponsored legislative bill, Senate Bill 423 - Retail Nonprescription Surplus Products: Determination for Reuse. The meeting was held at the Cal EPA Building in Sacramento, California. The meeting participants included representatives from Retailers, Manufacturers, Reverse logistic Companies, District Attorney's (DA), US EPA, and several Certified Unified Public Agencies CUPA).

June 16, 2015

On June 16, 2015, DTSC held a telephone conference with representatives from small and medium sized retailers and an industry association, including: Dollar Tree, Save Mart, Grocery Outlet, Charlotte Russe and the California Grocers Association. The purpose of the discussion was to focus on small and medium sized retailers that are not already part of the Retail Waste Workgroup (RWW), engage them in this important conversation and get their perspective on hazardous waste management practices and challenges. DTSC encouraged these retailers to continue their participation and collaboration in the RWW.This initial discussion with the small and medium sized retailers is part of DTSC's continuing effort to gather information and develop an understanding of the hazardous waste management practices at various types of retailers.
 

April 13, 2015

On Monday, April 13, 2015, DTSC hosted a collaborative meeting to exchange information on Retail Industry hazardous waste management issues. The meeting was held at the Cal EPA Building in Sacramento, California. The meeting participants included representatives from Manufacturers, Retailers, Reverse logistic Companies, Attorney General's office (AGO), District Attorney's (DA), US EPA, Certified Unified Public Agency CUPA) and the California Department of Public Health.
