Jae Choi, Ph.D. Avaya Corporation

Jae Choi started his career at Bell Laboratories (AT&T and Lucent Technologies) and has more than 40 years experience in industry. Jae performed research and implemented manufacturing processes for laser marking, polymer fabrication, and product quality and reliability.

Jae developed the bromine-free flame retardant additives from all AT&T products in 1990s. He championed the lead-free solder used in product at Lucent Technologies and Avaya. He developed heavy metal-free heat stabilizer used in cords. He has been recognized as "Green" materials and chemistry Subject matter expert at Avaya. He holds twenty six U.S. patents and had five other U.S. patents pending. Several technical papers and a book authored by Jae have been published in technical journals and publications. Jae has conducted technical seminars for design, development, and manufacturing associates within companies. Jae has also taught courses at Universities. Jae earned his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio.
