June 29, 2016, Sacramento, California
1st Annual Water Quality Science Symposium presented by SWAMP

DTSC staff attended the State Water Resources Control Board’s 1st Annual Water Quality Science Symposium at the CalEPA HQ building on June 29.  The free event highlighted surface water quality data within California as well as connect data, information and knowledge to water quality stakeholders and decision makers and create a networking community to enhance better communication throughout the year. DTSC staff presented a poster on the basic process of the Safer Consumer Products program.

NorCal Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Annual Meeting

DTSC participated in the annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s (SETAC) NorCal chapter April 26-27, 2016 at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland. The conference’s theme was Environmental Justice: Bridging the Gap between Environmental Science and Social Issues. Employees learned about the latest local research through platform and poster presentations and also presented a platform presentation highlighting the intersection between environmental justice and the DTSC’s Safer Consumer Products program.

Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America Annual Meeting

DTSC staff attended and participated in the SETAC North America 36th Annual Meeting. A platform presentation was given in the session entitled, "Chemical Exposures from Consumer Products." Two posters were presented in a session called, "Winning the Green Ribbon: Application of 'Green Chemistry' in the Development of Products and Processes." DTSC staff also co-chaired a session on "Current and Emerging Tools and Approaches for Ecosystem-Focused Chemical Assessments Involving Data Gaps."

Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America Annual Meeting

DTSC participated in the annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s (SETAC) NorCal chapter April 29-30, 2015 in the CalEPA building. Employees taught a three-hour short course on the Safer Consumer Products program on the first day and presented a platform presentation highlighting one of our Priority Products on the second day.
